Landshipping is a small village located north of Carew & Cresswell on the Eastern Cleddau in Pembrokeshire. There is a lot of history there dating back to Roman times including Mining at the collieries along with shipping of timber. A tragic accident also occurred on 14th February 1844 when an incoming tide broke through a roof of the garden pits mine, killing 40 workers. Today, garden pit is now a peaceful location with beautiful views of the Cleddau along with the dense forest nearby. Not too far away on the other side of Landshipping is Big House once owned by the Owens of Orielton. Is it now under restoration with plans for a B+B in the future.
