Queen Elizabeth II 90th Birthday Celebrations, Front Street, Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire – 21st April 2016
21st April 2016 marked the celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II 90th birthday around the United Kingdom. Pembroke Dock was proudly selected along with a select few towns in Pembrokeshire to light a beacon at Martello tower, Front Street, to contribute to the birthday celebrations for anyone living nearby. It was held during the late evening, also slightly later than advertised so the flame could be properly viewed while the sky began to turn from day to night.
Also at Front Street in Pembroke Dock during the celebration was music from a resident’s house playing a variety of music for everyone, refreshments including cakes, drinks & hot food. The Shipwright, located near the Martello tower (as it is more commonly known) held buffet food including drinks.
As I was taking part in the festivities (the food & drink part 🙂 ), I did not get a chance to take many images except for the lighting of the beacon & some fireworks. The firework display was a great ending to the evening with a beautiful display pleasing everyone in attendance. The images below are also available to purchase if you are interested in any of them.
